Alexander Dixon married Fanny Brown on 27 March 1851; he was a bachelor and she was a spinster.

On Thursday, the 27th ult., by the Rev. Dr. Jenkins, Mr. Alex. Dixon, of Dog River, to Fanny, eldest daughter of Nicholas Brown, Esq., Elliot River. (the Islander April 1851)

Alexander (55, b. PEI), Fanny (50, b. England), and three daughters were in the 1881 census in Lot 31. The daughters were Annie (30), Sarah (29), and Bessie (20).

Martha Dixon was baptized on the same day with father Alexander Dixon and mother Isabella McPhail. The transcription of the record has "Ill" next to her name, which I take to mean illegitimate. There was no record found of an earlier marriage record for Alexander.
