Sarah was named in Angus McFadyen's will, as the wife of Paul McPhail.
Sarah had a daughter Mary in 1859, and married the father, Duncan Livingstone, on July 24 1860. Witnesses were Charles and Catherine McFadyen. Sarah and Duncan had four more children. The youngest, Sarah, was not with the family in the 1881 census.
Duncan died in 1874. Two years later, Sarah married the widower, Paul McPhail. Witnesses were Donald McFadyen and Christie McEachern. She is identified as Sarah Livingston (W) of Elliot River in marriage licence of 1876 with Paul Colin McPhail.
Sarah and Paul McPhail were in the 1881 census. Living in the household were three children from her first marriage - Mary (21), Daniel (17), and Archibald Livingston (15).
She died between 1881-1891, as Paul was widowed and living with step-children Archie and Mary Livingston in the 1891 census.
