My Family Tree

Margaret Mcdougall, daughter of John and Grace (Mercereau) married Archibald Coughlin, a bachelor, on 11 Dec 1879. The Presbyterian ceremony was performed by Arthur Carr, and two women named Carr were witnesses.

Examiner Thursday December 18, 1879 At the Manse, Alberton, on the 11th inst., by the Rev. A. F. Carr, A. M., Mr. Archibald Coughlan,to Miss Margaret McDugald, both of Campbelton, Lot 4.

By the time of the 1881 census, there were two children in the household, Ralph age 7 and George, 5 months. Also in the household were Mysie, later identified as Archibald's unmarried sister, and a George Coughlin, age 80. It seems likely that George was Archibald's father.
