Note

Mary Rogers was born in Carmarthen, Wales, the daughter of Joseph Rogers. the family emigrated in the 1880s, and settled initially in North Bedeque. She married William Johnston of Long River in 1869, after the death of his first wife.

Mary was a seamstress.

Family members were brothers David (Summerside), Benjamin (Alberton), Joseph (Wilmot Valley), sister Ann (Mrs. John Forsythe, Alberton) and Mrs. Andrew Wells, also of Alberton.

Mary left most of the money in her estate to the Presbyterian Church.
