There were two men named James McDougall who could be the son of Peter and Catherine. This James said his father was born on PEI, and his mother in Ireland. The other James McDougall, born around the same time, said his father was born in Scotland and his mother in Ireland. The second James was married to Eliza Ann, probably Eliza Ann Hudson.

James died in 1895, and was buried in New Brunswick. Diodama or Diodamy emigrated to the United States with Ida, Alma, Susan and Geraldine in 1896 or 1897. On the 1900 US census, Diodama was a widow, and said she had had 7 children, 6 living. Ida and Alma were dressmakers, Susan and Geraldine made corsets.
