According to information provided by his children on various records, William Douglas McDougall was born in Alberton, PEI, which makes it possible that I have placed him with the wrong parents, and he was the son of Hector McDougall and Elizabeth Hardy. However, I am placing him with Peter and Harriet, who had a son William G., born about 1859. Peter and Harriet's older children were also born in Lot 4, PEI.

A son named William was in Peter's obituary, but not Willis. William was not one of the sons who acted as pallbearers at his mother's funeral in 1922, and was not named in Alexander's obituary in 1941. However, Bismark's obituary said "Stanley and W. W. McDougall of Moncton are nephews". William must have predeceased his father.

William McDougall married Alice Cunningham in 1879. In 1881, they were living with their daughter Lilly in Nova Scotia. William was a boiler maker. They returned to Moncton, where William was a carpenter in 1901, and in 1911, had a boiler shop. Alice was a widow in 1921.

William and Alice's daughter Lillian, born February 1880, might be the same Lillian McDougall born February 1880 living with Mabel McDougall Stone in Massachusetts in 1900, which could be an indication of a family link.
