Hector McFadyen was born January 1, 1810, two years after his father John McFadyen and his brother Alexander arrived from Mull, Argylshire, Scotland. From these two families have sprung the numerous progeny of McFadyens in the vicinity as well as Darrachs, Clyde River, McLeans, Desable, and many others. (Guardian newspaper, on Hector's birthday)
I am assuming that Ann McFadyen, born Scotland in 1802, who married John McLean and lived in Desable, PEI, was one of the McFadyens who arrived from Scotland, a daughter of either John or Alexander.
