My Family Tree

This is not the entire family of George Hardy. The history of Cascumpec also covers some branches of the Hardy family.

Only one child (George) was in the PEI Baptismal Index.

In the 1861 census, there was one entry for Solomon Hardy, Lot 3 with:
1 male under 5
1 male between 16-21 (Charles)
1 male 21-45 (George)
1 male 45-60 (Solomon)
1 female between 6-15 (Margaret?)
2 females between 16-21 (Mary Ann?)
1 female 45-60 (Nellie)

There were 6 single people, and one married couple. Matilda and Elizabeth had married before this census. Elizabeth (Hardy) McDougall died at the home of her father Solomon.

The Islander – Nov 29, 1867
At his residence, Kildare River, on the 12th Mr. Solomon Hardy, in the 63d year of his age, of Dropsy, leaving a wife and five children to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father.

Solomon's will named only his wife, two sons, George & Charles, and three daughters, Matilda, Marianne and Margaret.
