CHARLES MURL
Charlie was b. in 1872 [in 1880]. He lived in Tyne Valley. His mother was a Hooper.[she was a Chappell] He was in the 105th Battalion during the First World War. He worked on the C.N. Railway. He m. Gertrude (Gertie) Robbins, dau. of William
and Rachael (Clow) Robbins. She was b. in 1880. They lived in Kensington before moving to Freetown in
1923. They lived on the Freetown road across from the Frank Deacon farm. Later, they moved to the village.
Charlie d. in 1966; Gertie d. in 1981, age 101 years.

MURL—On Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 27th, the home of Mr. Charles Murl, Free- town, was the scene of an interest- ing event, when hs daughter, Hazel Jane, was wedded to Mr. Fred Elmer MacKenzie of Stanley Bridge. In anticipation of the ceremony, the house had been prettily decor- ated with foszoons and bells of crepe tissue paper pink. The bride was tastefully gowned in a dress of brown satin
