The community of O'Leary was saddened on hearing of the unexpected death of one of its esteemed citizens, George W. Taylor, who died in Rumford, Maine Feb 25 [1918] as a result of an attack of acute digestion and heart failure, aged 62 years. The late Mr Taylor was a son of George Taylor, New London, shipbuilder, who died when his son George was an infant. His mother was Sophia Wigmore, who married the late Archibald Ramsay of Lot 11 in 1858 and who now survives him. [Sophia married George in 1854] He leaves his mother, wife, Mary Talland [Folland] four sons and two daughters:
William of the CASC Expeditionary Force; Annie, Mrs George Brooks of O'Leary, Stanley, James, Everett and Edith Jane at home; five half brothers and three half sisters. He was buried next to his first wife, Margaret Gillis, who predeceased him by 18 years. Guardian
