The subject's mother, who bore the maiden name of Martha Ellis, was a
daughter of James Ellis, a son of William Ellis, a shipbuilder and merchant at Bide-
ford. To George and Martha Sharp were born the following children: W. J., the
subject of this sketch; Shelton and Frank, engaged in business with the subject; Mrs.
Ernest Hardy, of Lot 11; Carrie, at home; Florence, a trained nurse and graduate of
the Prince Edward Island Hospital.
