Although Edward would also fit in the family of Michael Ramsay and Nancy Ann Smith, I have placed him with Malcolm Ramsay and Ann McIntosh, because Malcolm was in Lot 16 and should have had a son named Edward. This might be wrong.

There was an Edward Ramsay in Lot 16 in 1861, 5 people in the household, all single, Presbyterian and born on the Island. There was one boy between 5-15 [John?], 1 boy 15-21 [Neil], 2 men [Edward and Donald] and one woman, 21-45 [Margaret, or her mother?]. There were no other Ramsay families nearby.

The 1861 census is a reasonably good fit for Edward and his brothers and sisters, or his brothers and his mother.
