"Massachusetts Marriages, 1841-1915," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N44R-8H5 : 17 February 2016), Russell S. Platts and Ella M. Ramsay, 17 Dec 1901; citing , Haverhill, Massachusetts, United States, State Archives, Boston; FHL microfilm 2,057,533.
Ella May was listed with the family of Albert and Catherine Ramsay in 188, at age 1; in 1891, she was called their daughter. She was named in both parents' obituaries, she attended a family reunion, and died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Hardy.
Mrs Platts died Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs Edward Hardy of Alberton. She is survived by one son Ervin who is serving in the Navy, also five sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Elliott of Lynn, Mass; Mrs Georg Oliver of Maine; Mrs Perley Pridham of Saint John, NB; Mrs John H. Dignan of Howlan and Mrs Edward Hardy who tenderly cared for her sister in the last few weeks. Also one brother Ervin Ramsay of Rosebank. Her huband predeceased her some years ago. Charlottetown Guardian 14 Feb 1951 page 15
The following ladies arrived in Howlan to attend the funeral of their sister: Mrs. Elizabeth EIliott of Lynn. Mass; Mrs, George Oliver of Maine; and Mrs. Perley Pridham of saint John. N.B. They were guests at the home of their brother...Guardian Tuesday February 20, 1951
A descendant of one of Albert and Catherine's youngest daughters says that she doesn't believe Ella May belongs in this family because no one in the family talked about her. However, a more likely explanation is that the sisters who lived in Saint John were closer, especially given that Ella May was 10 - 15 years older than the youngest in the family. Ella May was married in Massachusetts in 1901, when the youngest two sisters were 6.
