Notes

Note

James Mann married Hannah Braidwood in 1792. His occupation was brewer's servant when he married, and carter when William was born. They were living in Gifford Park when William was born, and it was where Hannah died. Their youngest child was born in 1798, and Hannah was a widow at the time of her death in 1847, so he died between those dates.

Two of their children were named for Hannah's parents, James and Elizabeth, so James' father could have been named William, the name of their first-born son.

There was a James Mann of about the right age in St.Cuthbert's Parish but not living with Hannah.
