ONCE McARTHUR, NOW IS ARTHUR
Samuel seemed to go back to McArthur after this election - no doubt at the time he wanted to get his name highter up on the ballot. He was Samuel McArthur in 1900, with wife Annie and three children, Lillian, John and Charles. Annie said 4 children, 3 living. A son named Benjamin had died in 1899. In 1910, Samuel Arthur was a widower with Charles, 10; Hazel, 7, Robert, 4 and Ruth, almost 2. He married again, and in 1920, still Samuel Arthur, he was living with his second wife and John F., 24; Lillian, 22; Robert, 15; Ruth, 14; Annie, 9; Samuel, 7; Douglas, 5; Hazel, age 18 and married.
Samuel wrote poetry that was often published in the Cambridge newspapers.
