Narrative
Spanish War Veteran, joined the 4th Virginia Volunteer Militia in 1898 and served in Cuba. Later he served at Presidio and the Philippines. During the Mexican uprising he went to the border with Co. G. In WW1 he served overseas with Co. G., 101st Infantry. He was gassed and lot one of his fingers. Returning to this city after the armistice. Mr Irving took up his trade as a painter but owing to his poor health he was confined to the Naval Hospital from time to time.
He leaves his wife, Mrs Hattie irving, his mother Mrs Emily Irving, two sisters, Mrs Albert A. Howett and Mrs Mabel Bromley and one brother,
