Note
According to the description of the Hugh Montgomery House, Fox Point in Malpeque, it was the home of Hugh Montgomery (1731 - 1824) and his wife Mary McShannon and their family. Five generations of the Montgomery family lived at Fox Point, including Hugh and Mary's son Donald Montgomery (1760 - 1845) and his wife Nancy Penman.
Donald Montgomery Sr. and his wife Nancy Penman were the great grandparents of Lucy Maud Montgomery. They had seventeen children - nine sons and eight daughters. One daughter died as a child.

On the 27th ult., at Princetown Royalty, Daniel Montgomery, Esq., aged 84 years. The deceased had been for upwards of 63 years a resident on this Island, and was for a number of years a Representative in the House of Assembly, and a Justice of the Peace for Prince County.
