Dyment, Meriah 1a

Birth Name Dyment, Meriah
Gender female
Age at Death less than 3 years

Notes

Note

Henry and Matilda had a daughter named Meriah, age 2 in the 1881 census, and a daughter Minnie, age 20 born in Canada, in the 1900 US census. Since Minnie was a common nickname for Mary, were they the same daughter?

Matilda had lost three children by 1900, one of which was the first daughter named Angelina.

Minnie always gave her place of birth as Massachusetts, and a slighly later birth date. However, her birth was not recorded in Massachusetts.

There is no conclusive proof that Meriah and Minnie were the same daughter, and if the information Minnie gave on later census records was correct, then there were two daughters, one named Maria and the other Minnie in this family.
