Note

No birth or baptismal record was found for George. According to the Washington State Death Certificate, the George W. Dyment who died in Washington State in 1953 was the son of Henry Scott Dyment and Matilda Hardy. He was born around 1876. In the 1881 Census: Henry Dyment (41, farmer), Matilda (40), William (19), Dyer (17), Hudson (15), Henette (13), Margaret (11), George (8 - born 1873), Angeline (6), Mariah (2).

George Dyment can be found in the US Census records in Washington State, born in 1875 in Canada. His wife was Nora Ann Bailey, born in Kansas in 1881.

1900 census: George Dymente, b. August 1875, was living with wife Nora, age 19, in Washington State. They had one daughter, Minnie F., age 1.
1910 census: children were Minnie (10), Matilda (9), Lila (7), and Henry (4).
1920 census: children were Henry (14), Nora (12) and Dorothy (1).

George Dyment of Tacoma, 5708 Sheridan and married to Mrs. N. Dyment was a carpenter, age 47, who applied to go back to Canada - this would have been around 1920. He said he had left Canada in 1912 to look for work in the United States.

In the 1923 city directory for Seattle Washington, Mrs. Nora Dyment was listed as living at 1115 9th Avenue. Nora died in 1928. In 1930, George was in the Insane Asylum in Steilacoom Washington. In the 1940 census he was still a patient.

In his obituary in 1953, his daughters were listed as Mrs. Lila Neuss, Mrs. Nora Gordon, Mrs. Jean (i.e. Minnie Florence) Barry of Spokane, Mrs. Dorothy Burke of Saranac Lake, New York; son Harry. He was the brother of Mrs Annie Miller and Mrs George Burke of Tacoma.

He had seven grandchildren: Lila had 2 children, Nora 1, Jean 2, and Harry 2.
