On the 24th December, by Mr. James J. Rice, B.C. Minister, Mr. James Dunville, of Lot 8, to Miss Jane Ellis, of Lot 13. The Islander January 10 1868

In the census records from 1881 to 1901 Jane was keeping house for Senator John Yeo in Lot 13. It doesn't look like she remarried after her husband died. Only one daughter, Mary Jane, was living with her in 1881.

Jane's obituary noted that she had kept house for Senator Yeo for about 30 years. It mentioned that her brother John who had died just before her. The only surviving brother was Robert, and sister Agnes,
