Note
According to the History of Brae, Zilpha McLean married Dougald McFadyen, son of Angus. There is a picture said to be of Dougald and Zilpha in the History of the Brae. I was unable to find their marriage in PEI Marriage Registers.
There was, however, a marriage for Zilpha McLean and William C. McDougall in the Presbyterian Church in Alberton by the Rev. Arthur Carr in October 1880, with witnesses Mary and Martha Carr. And a marriage of Margaret McLean to Dugald McFadyen.
Nina Ross says that Zilpha was the daughter of Alex McLean of the Brae.

The Zilpha McLean who married William C. McDougall died young, after the birth of their daughter Mary. William went to the States, and Mary was brought up by her McDougall grandparents.
The newspaper death notice for their daughter Mary confirmed that her parents were William and Zilpha.
