Smith, Joseph
| Birth Name | Smith, Joseph |
| Gender | male |
Notes
Note
Joseph's wife was Mary Wright. They were married on Jan 27 1751 in Marston-upon-Dove.
The Marston On Dove records seem to have the baptismal records for two men named Joseph Smith. There were two separate baptisms in 1761 for sons of a Joseph Smith - one for a William, and one for a Joseph. And there were two daughters named Prudence, one in 1749, and one in 1759. Without the name of the mother on the record, it is difficult to know which belong to Joseph and Mary - although it seems more likely that they took all three of their children with them to Prince Edward Island and didn't leave the rest behind in England.
Joseph was a shoemaker and perhaps also a tailor.
Joseph's will was read in the presence of Mary Smith, William Wood, Prudence Wood, James Marshall, Lauretta Marshall, and Joseph Smith Jr.
