Lydia, Alexander, William and Elizabeth, children of John and Matilda Mcarthur, were baptized in the Anglican church in Chatham on March 4 1849.
I don't think William McArthur, born about 1844, who married Christabel Harnay is this William. This William's father was born on the Island, and his mother in Scotland. He was a member of the Free Church of Scotland.
Since a younger son was named William Neil in 1863, perhaps this William had died by that date.
