Jacob Schurman (March 10, 1777) was a son of William Schurman, Loyalist. Jacob married Penelope McKendrick (1786-Oct. 15, 1865) on March 15, 1804. Jacob and Penelope lived on land which was part of his father's property, about where Ira Arsenault lives (1979). It is not known how many years they lived here. They moved later to Norboro. Jacob and Penny had five children:

Elizabeth (Dec. 28, 1805) married Francis or Frank Clark of Darnley.

Rachel (May 15, 1808-Mar. 11, 1823)

Jane Silliker (June 5, 1811-Oct. 7, 1813)

Sarah Baker or "Sally" (Sept. 5, 1814-April 20, 1878)

Donald (Sept. 5, 1814-Feb. 14, 1911)

Sarah and Donald did not marry. They lived at the homestead in Norboro.

Died.
On Monday the 9th inst., at her residence, Town Road, Lot 25 in the 89th year of her age, Mrs. Penelope Schureman, relict of the late Jacob Schureman. She was universally respected by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance and died in the full assurance of a glorious immortality.
