Son of Gilbert McArthur and Mary Ann Metherall.

John was living with Gilbert and Mary Ann in 1881. He was in Dorchester, Mass. in 1930. He was in Cambridge, Mass. when his brother William died in 1931, but was not a surviving brother in a family obituary in 1934.

 

He was not: John Kenneth McArthur, wife Annie Rachel Taylor, who died in Dorchester, Mass on October 4 1932, was the son of John J. McArthur and Ellen Martin. In the 1930 US census, John, born 1862, had a wife Rachel, on Dorchester St in Boston, Massachusetts. Father born Scotland, mother born England. He had married Rachel in 1900, and they emigrated in 1922.
