MacArthur William T. Charlottetown Patriot June 12, 1931 Of Rosebank, age 70

Mrs George Key of Summerside received the sad news last Saturday morning of the death on Friday evening June 12th of her father, Mr William T. McArthur at his home in Rosebank, near Alberton. Mr McArthur was 70 years of age and had only been sick just one week. He was born at Lot 16 and was the son of the late Gilbert McArthur.

He came with his parents to Rosebank when 13 years of age and has lived on the homestead there until his death. He was very highly esteemed and was one of the most successful farmers in the district. Mr MacArthur was always interested in the welfare of the community and was a prominent member of the Orange Lodge at Elmsdale. He was a Liberal in politics and an ardent worker for his party. He was a member of the Presbyterian church but was a supporter of the Nazarene society.

There are left to mourn, besides his sorrowing widow (nee Miss Janie Boyle of Lot 12), two sons, James of Elmsdale and John on the homestead; two daughters, Mrs George Matthews of Elmsdale and Mrs George Key of Summerside; also two brothers, John of Cambridge, Mass and Benjamin at Rosebank and one sister, Mrs Thomas Metherall of Mill river.
