In 1937, her brother-in-law W. B. McArthur, while in Calgary, was "the guest of Mrs. Newton L. McArthur, formerly of Margate, P.E.l., who is hale and hearty at 92 years. "

In 1938, she had 8 children living: Mrs L Pitts; Mrs L M Gillespie; Mrs A Green, all of Calgary; Miss Carrie, of Calgary. Mr J J McArthur of Gleichen, Mrs L.. J. Canfield of Irricana, Mrs Louise Dow of Vancouver and Mrs Edward Urch of Boston.

When she died, she was survived by seven daughters, Mrs Z. Darrow, San Jose; Mrs A Green, Mrs L Pitts, and Miss Carrie, all of Calgary, Mrs L M Gillespie, Gleichen; Mrs TJ Canfield, Irricana, Mrs E. Urch, Boston.
