Ponteix Pioneer Irving Charles Gorrill d. Wednesday morning in a Regina hospital, three days after celebrating his diamond wedding anniversary. He was 86.

Born in Prince Edward Island, Mr Gorrill came to Saskatchewan in 1916 and settled in the Ponteix district. Besides his wife Sadie he is survived by one son Harold and a daughter Mrs Lorenzo Laybourne. Also surviving are three brothers, Amos is PEI; Lincoln, Bulyea, and Garfield, Creston, BC and two sisters, Mrs Winnie Weib Medicine Hat and Mrs Ella Warren, Florida. Leader Post 25 Oct 1956 pg 15
