Angus came to Lot 9 from Crapaud. This, from the History of Canoe Cove, might be his family: "Malcolm, the first of the Cove MacFadyens that we have information on lived in Crapaud. We do not know his wife's name but we know that he had two sons, Angus and Donald, and two daughters Jane and
Anne." However, Angus was quite a bit older than Donald, Jane and Ann...

He could be the Angus in the 1861 census in Crapaud. A Finlay McFadyen was next to his entry.

Angus was in Lot 9 in the 1871 directory of PEI.

Angus and Catherine McFadian were in Lot 9 in 1881 with Effie, Philip, Donald, William, John (13), Dane (Dan'l?) (8) and Catherine (5). It seems unlikely that these last 3 were their children.

In 1891, Angus was a widower age 76, living with his married son Donald. On the census record, he said that both of his parents were born in Scotland.

In his will, he named the following children: Dougald, Donald, Malcolm, Philip, William, and Effa. His will was filed in 1903. Angus didn't make any provision for the 3 young McFadyens in his household in 1881.
