Son of Neil Ramsay and Mary Cole. Married Margaret Ramsay (1791-1892) dau. Edward and Flora (McKay) Ramsay.

There were no baptismal records for Dugald (and variations of the name) and Margaret in the PEI Baptismal Index. History of Hamilton, Pathways to the Present says their children were Mary, Elizabeth, Neil, Dugald, Archibald (a bachelor), Flora, and John.

Neil married Ellen Donald.

Second son Dugald (date of marriage unknown but eldest da. born about 1811-- 1881 Census) bought the 100 acres on the NW of Mary’s farm on July 7, 1813 (PEIPARO, R.G.16, 42/505)

In the 1881 census of Lot 18, Margret was age 90, a widow, born on the Island; she was living with Mary (70), Flora (40) and Archibald (50), all single.

On the 6th inst Mr Dugald Ramsay of Oyster Cove, Township 18, aged 67; an old and respected inhabitant of that place. Mr Ramsay was a man much beloved by all who knew him and he was an upright and consistent Member of the Presbyterian Church and filled the situation as an Elder in that Church for manny years. His death is much regreted - leaving a large and numerous circle of friends and relatives. Haszard's Gazette 19 November 1851 page 2

the same obit in the Islander said Duncan:
Died. On the 6th instant, Mr. Duncan Ramsay, of Oyster Cove, Township Eighteen, aged 67; an old and respectable inhabitant of that place.
