Notes

Note

Neil was baptized in Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland in 1751, the son of John Ramsay and Margaret Taylor. There is general agreement that Neil Ramsay emigrated to PEI in 1770 with his parents, and married Mary Cole sometime after his arrival on the Island.

Their marriage was not in the Cash License Book, and none of their children were in the PEI Baptismal Index, which means that Mary might not have been Neil's first wife, or the mother of all of his children. However, let's go for the simplest story.

He is the Neal Ramsay who received a government grant for land in Princetown in 1787, and who was in the 1798 census of PEI in Lot 18 with a household of 9.
