Barbara was married and living with her parents, but without her husband in 1881. The younger children in the household were grandchildren - William Henry (8), Alfred (11), Annie Maria (10) and Andrew (2) - the youngest three were her children.
Will of Andrew Ramsay of Mount Pleasant Lib 11, page 549, signed in 1887, named his widow Maria and children Barbara Ramsay, Isaac, Cornelius, John Archibald, Adeline, Susan, and Robert, youngest daughter Martha, and daughter Nancy who was his executor. Samuel Ramsay, Maria's brother, was a witness.
Horatio had remarried in Maine in 1885, saying he was a bachelor on his marriage record - did they get a divorce? Originally, Barbara and Horatio may have separated, or they may have gone to Maine together, with Barbara returning to the Island because of ill health - their eldest son Harry Alfred said he was born in Maine. But indications are that Barbara was alive in 1887.
Harry Alfred went to Ohio, and Annie Maria went to Massachusetts where she died young. Their son Andrew seems to have stayed on the Island. Andrew Ramsay, age 11, was in the household of Samuel and Lilly (Taylor) McArthur in Lot 13 in 1891, a domestic. Andrew was living with his aunt or cousin Charlotte Anderson in 1901, and was married in 1917.
