Malcolm Ramsay married Eleanor Boyle (1798‑1875). They lived in Lot 11.
After Malcolm's death , Eleanor married Thomas Murray (1794‑1875).

Malcolm and Eleanor had eight children:
Eleanor (or Helen), married Edmund (or Edward), Grigg , Alberton;
Donald (1819‑1878), J.P., married (1) Margaret (or Elizabeth) Grigg, and (2) Flora Hardy (1839‑1928), Lot 11;
Archibald (1823‑1905), married (1) Flora Inglis (1826‑1856), (2) Sophia (Wigmore) Taylor (1835‑1921), Lot 11;
Robert Sr. (1825‑1904), married (1) Ann Ellis (1825‑1899), and (2) Margaret Jane Trowsdale (1865‑1956), Lot 11
Thomas (1830‑1897), married Hannah P. Ellis (1834‑1902), Freeland;
John (1832‑1885), married Sarah Jane (1835‑1922), Freeland;
Mary, married Henry Wigmore on Dec. 21, 1859, New London, Lot 21; and
Elizabeth (1835‑1921), married Joshua Smallman Jr. (1828‑1889), lived in Freeland, Cascumpeque and Knutsford, P.E.I.

There were four children in the PEI Baptismal Index for Malcolm and Eleanor: Donald, Eliza, John and Robert.

Malcolm's date of death is unknown, although some family trees say he died in 1835. His his widow remarried in 1855.

When his daughter Elizabeth married in 1854, she was called the daughter of Malcolm Ramsay of Lot 11 in the newspaper notice, not the daughter of the late Malcolm. Malcolm probably died around 1854.
