Note

William Ellis gave his year of birth as 1841 in the 1881 and the 1891 census, and December 1840 in the US 1900 census. His gravestone gave his dates as 1843-1908. According to his death certificate, his age at death was 65 years, 5 months and 28 days, which gives a date of birth of November 5, 1842. I was unable to find his baptism in Church of England records, or the PEI Baptismal Index, but there was a birth recorded for this family that was crossed off.

In the PEI Marriage Registers, his marriage to Elizabeth was recorded as William Ellis and Elizabeth Cameron, on 3 Jan 1866. The Church of England record was clearly William Ellis, Bachelor from Lot 12, and Elizabeth Cannon, spinster from Lot 4.
