Note
Edmund may have been the Edmund Ellis, age 28, living in New Brunswick in the 1881 census. In July 1881, Edmund went to the States.
He was living with his niece Edna Cutcliffe in the 1900 US census. He was a ship carpenter and a widower. I was unable to find a record of a previous marriage in New Brunswick, Maine, New Hampshire or Massachusetts. He said he had emigrated in 1870, but I could find no trace of him in the United States until 1900.
A widower, Edmund C. Ellis, married Abbie M. Davis in 1905 in Boston. He died of pneumonia in 1909.
