Thomas and Martha went to Massachusetts about 1891, where Martha died in 1893. I haven't been able to find Thomas in the 1900 US, or the 1901 Canadian census. His daughter Marion was working as a domestic on the Island, but I haven't been able to find Arthur, until he signed Attestation papers in 1915, or Hattie, until her marriage in 1905.

In 1910, the widowed Thomas was living with his sister in law Abbie Ellis, widow of his brother Cornelius. Also in the household were Reuben Ellis and Watson Dyment (Diamond) from Northam. He was living in Quincy in 1930, working as a cobbler in a shoe store and living in lodgings. He died there in 1933.

"Thomas, James' son, was also a prominent businessman. He was born in Bideford, P.E.I., and conducted a shoe factory in O'Leary where he made shoes to order. Only the well-to-do people of could afford them. When the products of large factories began to come into the province, he sold his equipment and moved to Quincy, Massachusetts, where he retailed shoes, supplied to him by a factory at Brockton." I haven't been able to find a death notice for Thomas in the Boston Globe, and his death wasn't picked up by the Charlottetown Guardian.
